Creating art is my passion, I've been told many times that my art is calming. I mainly use soft pastels but love to create art with various other mediums too. I am totally self taught.
I love to be out in nature and to see the sun illuminating the leaves in trees or the petals of a flower is quite magical.. to capture this in my art is a driving force within me. I have a particular love of misty mornings too.. that delicate veil floating gently over the landscape is truly amazing, especially when the suns ray’s are emanating gently outwards casting a beautiful glow within it.
I have a quirky almost childlike sense of humor as you’ll see from my rabbit pictures and my animal charcoal drawings, which are coming soon. I believe life is here to be enjoyed and we should never lose touch with that awe-inspired, fun-loving inner child within us all.
Bunnies in Pastel
When I painted the series of rabbit paintings I had so much fun, I couldn't stop laughing when I had finished them. I enjoyed every minute of creating their cute funny faces and their extremely long whiskers.. the enthusiasm and excitement was almost child like..
The Fine details
When I approach any of my paintings, it is with precision and it can easily take a whole day just in the preparation. The fine details are everything, the details on a face or on a dress. There will always be aspects of a painting that are more 'in focus' and aspects which are soft.. this is how we view the world around us and it is important to create this in a painting...
Signing a Painting
Before adding my signature to a painting I will leave it on my easel and view it as the light changes throughout the day and into the evening. Only once I am totally happy I add my signature...
